A bomb exploded in a southern Colombia city in the early hours of Friday, extending a wave of terrorism that saw a police helicopter downed and an attack on an air force base.

The device was left in a bin in Florencia in Caqueta province, local police chief Colonel César Pinzón told Blu Radio. No one was killed in the blast, which damaged a row of stores.
