Omers Returns 2.2% in First Half Despite ‘Difficult’ Market

Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System returned 2.2% in the first half of the year as gains from investments in infrastructure, stocks and credit more than offset the impact of the weak US dollar.

“It’s been a volatile world tariff-wise, currency-wise, geopolitically,” Chief Executive Officer Blake Hutcheson said in an interview. “It’s been a difficult environment to invest, I think for all of us.”
