Overseas investors in Japanese ultra-long-term government bonds extended their purchasing spree to a seventh straight month and lured by high interest rates, their aggregate buying struck a new peak in the January-July period.

Data from the Japan Securities Dealers Association showed foreigners bought 479.5 billion yen ($3.3 billion) worth of bonds maturing in over 10 years in July, marking the longest buying streak since the seven months ended May 2022.
