HSBC Takes New Canary Wharf Office Alongside Downsized City HQ
HSBC Holdings Plc has signed a lease for additional office space in Canary Wharf two years after agreeing to shift its global headquarters to the City of London.
The bank has rented 210,000 square feet (19,510 square meters) of space on a 15 year lease at 40 Bank Street in the east London financial district, according to an emailed statement from landlord Canary Wharf Group. Bloomberg previously reported that the bank was in talks to take all of the empty space at the site, after growing concerned that its new headquarters would not be large enough.
