Traders Eye BOE Policy Review for Hints on Future of Bond Sales
Investors will be looking for clues about the future of the Bank of England’s bond sales on Thursday, amid speculation the central bank will start winding down its gilt holdings at a slower pace.
The central bank is expected to publish a review of its so-called quantitative tightening process alongside its monetary policy decision. While it’s unlikely to give a firm steer on the amount the BOE will reduce its balance sheet in the year from October, it will offer insight into officials’ thinking about the current annual rate of £100 billion ($133 billion).
