Lithuanian Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas came under increasing pressure to resign after a junior partner threatened to exit the governing coalition over mounting accusations of his business ties.

The leader of the Democratic Union for Lithuania, Saulius Skvernelis, delivered the ultimatum Wednesday after damaging information over the premier’s business dealings emerged in recent weeks. President Gitanas Nauseda had previously given Paluckas a two-week deadline to provide explanations or consider stepping down.
