Poland to Impose Checks at German Border Amid Migration Furore

Poland’s government will impose temporary border checks with Germany in an escalating row over irregular migration between the European Union neighbors.

Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the new controls were a response to tougher border checks introduced by Berlin last month, leading to an “asymmetry” and the expulsion of some migrants back to Poland.
