Petro Seeks Vote to Allow Changes to Colombian Constitution

Colombian President Gustavo Petro said he’ll seek a vote on whether to create an assembly to change the constitution.

Petro said he wants this question to be put to voters on the day of the 2026 elections. He didn’t specify whether he meant congressional elections in March, or the presidential election in May.
