US Assails Sanctions by UK, Allies on Top Israeli Officials

Secretary of State Marco Rubio rebuked five allies over sanctions they imposed on two members of Israel’s cabinet as fissures between the US and its partners widen over the war in Gaza and the treatment of Palestinians.

In a statement released late Tuesday, Rubio criticized the UK, Canada, Norway, New Zealand and Australia for penalties imposed on Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.
