Argentina Bonds Rise on New Measures to Lure Dollars

Argentina’s bonds gained Tuesday after the central bank unveiled a slew of measures aimed at helping the South American nation amass more hard-currency reserves, firepower the country needs to meet dollar debt payments.

The sovereign bonds were some of the biggest gainers among their emerging-market peers. Dollar notes due 2035 are up as much as 0.8 cents to 67.5 cents on the dollar, putting them on track for their biggest intraday gain in almost a month, according to pricing data compiled by Bloomberg.
