Danish Central Bank Mirrors ECB With Quarter-Point Rate Cut
Denmark’s central bank reduced its key interest rate by 25 basis points, matching its euro-area counterpart, to defend the krone’s peg to the common currency.
Nationalbanken, which doesn’t hold scheduled meetings, lowered its current account rate to 1.6% from 1.85%, according to a statement on Thursday. The decision follows a reduction from the European Central Bank by the same margin earlier in the day and marks the eighth rate cut in the current cycle.
