Bangladesh’s Interim Government Says It Will Stay the Course
Bangladesh’s interim government has no intention of stepping down before completing its responsibilities, a top cabinet member said, rejecting speculation over a possible resignation of its leader Muhammad Yunus.
“We will not leave our tasks unfinished,” Wahiduddin Mahmud, the government’s planning adviser, told reporters Saturday after a meeting of officials who are overseeing the country’s democratic transition. “The future of the nation depends on this work, and we must carry it through despite the obstacles.”
