Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama cemented his control over parliament at this weekend’s election as voters bought into his pledges to take the nation into the European Union by 2030.

Rama won an unprecedented fourth term in office by taking 52% of the vote, with 95% of the ballot papers counted as of Tuesday morning. His Socialist Party now has 82 seats in the 140-member parliament, up from 74 mandates in the previous term.
