Equinor Earnings Decline on Oil Trading Weakness, LNG Outage

Equinor ASA said first-quarter profit fell, reflecting weaker oil and gas trading and a prolonged outage in northern Norway.

Adjusted operating income after tax slid about 12% from a year earlier to $2.25 billion, missing analyst estimates. But the Norwegian energy giant reiterated plans to distribute as much as $9 billion to shareholders in 2025.
