Senate Democrats Face ‘Tough Choice’ on Backing GOP Funding Plan

Senate Democrats will be decisive in determining whether there is a government shutdown at the end of this week.

House Republicans passed in a mostly party line vote Tuesday a stopgap that would level fund agencies with some carve-outs for defense and other priorities through the end of the fiscal year, Sept. 30.
