Tel Aviv Stock Exchange to Trade Monday-Friday to Boost Inflows
- Israel is seeking to ease entry to the MSCI’s Europe Index
- Switch to the trading week will come into effect in Jan. 2026
The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Ltd. will switch to a standard Monday-to-Friday trading week from next year, an attempt to draw in international investors and pave the way for Israel to gain entry to the MSCI Europe Index.
The lack of alignment with global trading calendars was formerly cited as a major obstacle to inclusion in the higher-profile benchmark, according a stock exchange official. Stocks in Tel Aviv currently trade Sunday through Thursday to accommodate those observing the Jewish Sabbath — a resting day starting every Friday afternoon or evening, depending on the time of year.
