It’s been three years since Covid changed where many of us work — and how we get there. Early in the pandemic, many office workers rushed out of major cities in search of more space at home, others ditched public transit to walk or bike to work, and some took up driving, even if it meant a longer commute.

Many of the changes stuck, and cities are scrambling to adjust. London and New York are trying to entice workers back to offices and transit systems, Mexico City and Tokyo are building more bike lanes, and Mumbai is making a big bet on infrastructure.
